MISSION:

Life on Earth is imperiled by human degradation of the biosphere. Earth Island Institute develops and supports projects that counteract threats to the biological and cultural diversity that sustain the environment. Through education and activism, these projects promote the conservation, preservation, and restoration (CPR) of the Earth.





VISION:

It is with great hope that enough people will be inspired to realize that at present Earth is the only inhabitable planet in our solar system, as far as we know. Rather than taking the Earth for granted, we see a humanity that strives to earn its presence on the planet by giving back through care, protection, and nurturance, as the Earth does for us.
